HECKMAN ARCHITECTS
Project Type: New Construction, built in 2015
The Mercer Island residence is designed to efficiently maximize the space provided on its small lot. This sleek and modern aesthetic interplays vertical and horizontal lines capped by interweaving sloped roof lines.
Upon entering the home, one is immediately struck by the open and airy floor plan. The nucleus of the home features a large living room, a dining area, and a kitchen that seamlessly integrate with one another. The kitchen features a sleek design with top-of-the-line appliances, custom cabinetry, and a large island with seating.
Covered and open decks provide quality outdoor living while an exterior slat wood screen provides privacy from the neighbors. Large glass openings throughout flood the interior with desirable natural lighting, with the family room showcasing a linear fireplace ringed by windows.
Architect of record: Brad Sturman of Sturman Architects in Bellevue where Aaron Heckman served as senior designer for this project prior to forming HECKMAN Architects in February 2016.
